Who's been eating porridge in our classroom?

Early Years were shocked to come into school and find 3 bowls of porridge left  in our tray. They have concluded that it is Goldilocks and The Three Bears visiting our school late at night.

We have been ordering the different size bowls, spoons and chairs. We also measured how tall we think Daddy Bear could be and used the correct vocabulary to describe different heights. (shortest and tallest) 

 We decided to make posters around school to warn others of our unexpected visitors. Please let us know if you see anything else peculiar going on this week!

In phonics we have now learnt all the sounds below.

First Week in Early Years

WOW Early Years! We all can't believe how quickly the children in Early Years have settled into their new environment and school routines. We have been very busy learning the new areas of our classroom and getting to know each other. During circle time we shared with each other all about our families and our interests are. Our class puppet 'Poppy the Bunny' has been teaching us how to tidy our resources away during tidy up time. We all went on a class walk around the school, look at how great we are at lining up! We cant stop singing our new class song 'Herman the Worm'.

Bedmond Week

Last week we loved being part of Bedmond week and celebrating our local village. We explored what places we recognised around the village; tin church, park, shops and village hall. We then created our own maps using different coloured shapes to represent different things. We then welcomed Year 5/6 pupils to come and teach us about what they learnt when visiting the famous church. We then went on to create our own art work on the church, using our own cutting and sticking skills.  Phonic sounds this week, i n m and d.

Welcome to Early Years' blog page! We are so excited to be launching these this year so that we can keep you in the loop on what we are learning in class.  There is no set time that we will be uploading so please check back regularly or ask your child if we have added anything that day. We will not be using names or faces following the new GDPR rule, we ask that if you comment please do not use children's names either. It would be fantastic if you could comment on a post and give us some feedback, however, please keep things positive and encouraging as we share these posts with the children in class.
